Should Celebrities (or Anyone) Express Their Frustrations via Social Media?

While non-famous people could argue that a bad week in the life of a celebrity is, like, the best week of all time in the lives of us normal folks, you have to admit that Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber had to put up with a lot the past few days. Cheating scandals, break-up rumors, ruined celebrations, disappointed fans — they were driven to frustration. So much so, they both took to Twitter to express their feelings:

Miley: “I am so sick of La. And sick of the lies that come with it [...] Taking a break from social media. #draining [...] my new music is gonna shut everyone up.”

Justin: “rumors rumors and more rumors. nothing more nothing less. might talk about them 1 day [...] fake stories to sell papers i guess are part of the job [...] so make up stories about fake fines and make no mention of the positive…”

And these are just from yesterday. Now comes the question we’re all here for: Should celebrities, or even people in general, use Twitter, Facebook, etc. as a means of expressing their frustrations? Or keep those types of emotions to themselves? Everyone uses social media differently, so there is no right or wrong answer. Tell us yours in the comments below!

I feel that it’s ok to let some steam lose – it’s the tweets that get carried away that annoy me. Both the tweets above were calm (not over the top) and they are just letting you know that something someone read/wrote was not true. I think it’s ok to respond without being overbearing. The rat papers are for fun and it’s sad that are making up things (if they are) just to sell a paper. Then again, they have a job….lol

My opinion is that it’s okay to complain once in a while, and I do appreciate when celebrities clear up rumors, but if someone is using social media to complain CONSTANTLY I will usually unfollow/unfriend them.

We all know that life sucks sometimes — we don’t need to be reminded all the time!

they should be able to tell their fans what they are thinking and if a rumor about them is true or not.

they should be able to express what they are feeling to their fans and always keep them updated on their lives and what is going on. and also to tell them if a rumor is true or not.
