Who is ready for Teen Beach Movie?! Disney Channel’s latest original movie, which many believe could be the next High School Musical, has officially gotten a release date! Entertainment Weekly is reporting that you can watch Disney star Ross Lynch channel his inner surfer dude when Teen Beach Movie premieres on July 19 at 8 PM.

If you haven’t heard of this DCOM yet, what’s it all about? Well, Ross plays a guy named Brady who, along with his pal McKenzie (Maia Mitchell), get mysteriously transported to a 1960′s-esque movie where bikers and surfers do not get a long. Also, Brady and McKenzie accidentally change the movie’s story line, which could “alter their lives forever.”

One of the sure to be best parts of Teen Beach Movie? The original music! EW also reports that there will be not one, not two, but 12 (!) new songs performed throughout the movie. And you better believe there’ll be dancing — thanks to the choreography of Chris Scott from So You Think You Can Dance. The film’s official soundtrack will drop three days before the premiere on July 16.

Check out a teaser below!

Enough with musicals or anything that has to do with singing. We already have American Idol, X Factor, The Voice, Glee, etc. What happen to being original instead of following what’s “in”.

I like musicals, even though it’s annoying when my mom sings along with Glee while from in the other room. I wish there were more movies with good singers and dancers, less vampires so tired of them
