Taylor Swift just can’t catch a break lately. Not only did Glee creator Ryan Murphy call her out at PaleyFest, but a bunch of her fan mail was found in the trash, oh and let’s not forget about the whole Amy Poehler/Tina Fey “hell” comment debacle. But now it looks like Demi Lovato might have taken a jab at her as well.
During an interview with KDWB’s Big D morning show, the “Skyscraper” singer was asked why she thinks her Lovatics are such a dedicated fan base, to which she answered, “A lot of celebrities don’t open up to their fans, they just tell them what they want to hear. They don’t really tell them things that can benefit their lives. They just, ya know, maybe flaunt around a boyfriend to sell a couple albums. That’s not what my career’s about.”
Well, we all know that Taylor’s career is essentially based on her love life (and she’ll be the first one to admit that), so is that what Demi is talking about? It very well could be. And don’t get us wrong, we think Taylor makes great music, but we kind of have to agree with Demi on this one.
While Demi isn’t one to exactly hide relationships (she’s publicly dated Joe Jonas and Wilmer Valderrama) but that’s not all fans think of when they see her. Oh, and have you heard her new single “Heart Attack“?! It’s amazing.
The jury is still out on whether or not that’s a direct diss to Taylor, but TV trivia game show Jeopardy called Taylor out loud and clear on Wednesday’s episode. Just look at the clue below.

Well…I don’t think Demi was talking about Taylor!!Media like to over think and exagerate things so I love Demi I am a huge fan of her and if they are really faithing(but I bet they are not) I would pick Demi, but I als like Taylor so yeah…Demi was just talking in general!!

honestly Demi is ten times better than Taylor, yes I like both, but if you wanna throw them both in a fight even though they are not, I’d side with Demi. Because she is so open and honest with her fans. Also just bc she gave an example doesn’t mean she was implying taylor, media likes to direct things like that.
She didn’t say Taylor. The only reason everyone keeps assuming she’s talking about Taylor is because that’s all her music is about. So if it quacks like a duck…
I love the music that Taylor makes, but she does have quite a lot of boyfriends. I also love Demi and I think she’s a great role model, but I think that she didn’t have to call out Taylor because, does she know the whole story? Maybe all those “boyfriends” that are seen with Taylor, are just friends that she hangs out with. She has a right to flirt a little, and it’s her personal life. There’s singers out there who are doing drugs! I don’t see anyone lashing out at them, imo, drugs are a more serious issue than a love life.
I prefer Demi’s music. Nothing against Taylor except for the fact that she seems to have a hobby of dating every guy then making a song aboutit. Demi may have “issues” but who doesn’t and nobody said anything about either of them being beter. If that’s whatyou got from that story though good for you.
lol who cares, everyone makes Taylor Swift out to be a great person that’s a great role model for young girls, but honestly she’s not. She’s too obsessive over guys, and she bases her entire life as it seems to kids on guys. Her songs don’t teach anything meaningful, and I have yet to hear a song by her that isn’t about boys besides Mean. She’s just sending out a bad message in all her songs. That you should hate the girl that the guy you like likes, instead of you. And not because she’s nicer, less obsessive, or anything that makes sense. Because she sleeps around and she dresses nice. Maybe he likes that better?? She needs to grow up and quit acting like a fifth grader.

What did Taylor ever do to Demi? Seriously, people need to lay off. She hasn’t had 13 boyfriends; if Taylor hangs out with a guy they aren’t dating. And Demi is not even close to success as Taylor. Demi has 56 awards; Taylor has 175 or so awards. She has seven Grammy’s, Demi has zero. Demi is a wonderful girl and I’m proud of her for getting through her struggles, but seriously. Taylor has been under the stress of fame for about seven years and she’s still got a clean slate: no cutting, drugs, etc. Demi shouldn’t hate on someone who is ten times more successful as her.
It doesn’t matter how many awards she gets…. And it doesn’t matter at all anyways. She never said OMG TAYLOR SWIFT HAS SO MANY BOYFRIENDS! She may be talking about Selena Gomez for all we know
I doubt Demi was dissing Taylor, she’s got more class than that. She’s not the kind of person to lash out in “jealousy”, especially considering her voice kicks Taylor’s to next week. Taylor could take a page from Demi’s book to be honest (Grammys Harry diss). But Taylor deserves whatever she gets regardless, she’s talented, but she built this reputation for herself all on her own.
“Demi’s voice kicks Taylor’s to next week.” I know it’s an opinion, but honestly Taylor has the better voice out of the two in my opinion. She has a much larger fanbase. At least Taylor writes all of her songs.
Good for Demi! Whether she was dissing Taylor or not, I’m glad she knows that you don’t need to flaunt anything to make a solid music career. Taylor is becoming so overrated with all her boyfriend drama. I love her music, but the girl is getting pretty annoying with all of her songs about her ex-boyfriends. She should try and make music about someone she doesn’t know for a change. Also, I beg to differ Demi is a liability to anyone. Everyone has their issues, it’s just a shame Demi was in the public eye when everything happened. She is an incredibly strong woman for going through what she did and then bouncing back. Plus, I highly doubt she’s jealous of Swift. No one should be; she’s nothing special, just another singer who’s doing a good job at what she does.
They’re not best friends, Brianna lol. I know that for sure. But, I do agree that Demi is not “taking a jab” at Taylor Swift. Many artists sing & flaunt their boyfriends. Taylor just seems to do it the most..

I think everyone needs to leave Taylor Swift alone. Demi is just jealous of Taylor because of all the awards she has won and she has the better voice. I would much rather listen to Taylor Swifts songs and hang out with Taylor because Demi has some major issues. People are afraid of what Demi might do or say next because of all the issues and she is a liability and no one wants to deal with that.
