It looks like Pretty Little Liars is getting some fresh blood. Season three of Pretty Little Liars might have come to a close, but they’re already hard at work on season four, and former Vampire Diaries star Sean Faris has just been cast in a mysterious role.

So, who will he be playing? TVGuide reports that Sean will be playing Pennsylvania state police officer Gabriel Holbrook. While pretty much anything is possible in Rosewood, the arrival of a state police officer means that the Liars are probably in way over their heads. (Which isn’t really news, but you know what we mean). Sean will make his debut in the season four premiere, which gets us thinking…

This casting might not seem like a big deal, but the more we think about it, the more we think this means that Wilden might have been in the trunk. What makes us think that, you ask? Well, they’re going to have to deal with what’s in the trunk right away, (like, the season premiere, right away) so they’re calling in the big guns to find out who killed Wilden.

Of course, this is all just guessing. Sean’s character could be coming to Rosewood to deal with a number of things, but that’s just the first thing that popped into our heads.

What do YOU think of this casting news? Does it change the way you think about what (or who) was in the trunk? Sound off in the comments section!
