Looks like the Divergent cast is coming together quite nicely! It was just announced that three actors — Ben Lamb (left), Ben Lloyd-Hughes (middle), and Christian Madsen (right), have all been brought on to star in the upcoming YA book-to-movie adaptation.

So, who will they all be playing? Ben Lamb will take on the role of Edward, Ben Lloyd-Hughes will star as Will, and Christian will play Al — all Dauntless transfers. If you’ve read the book, you know that Will ends up becoming best friends with Tris, who is being played by Shailene Woodley.

It’s great news for these relatively unknown actors who join an already stellar cast that includes, Zoe Kravitz as Christina, Theo James as Four, Jai Courtney as Dauntless leader Will, and Oscar winner Kate Winslet as Erudite leader Jeanine Matthews (to name a few).

If you’re not up to speed on Divergent, the sure-to-be action-packed film will center on a 16-year-old named Beatrice Prior, or “Tris” who lives in a dystopian Chicago somewhere in the near future. All 16-year-olds must go through a ceremony where they decide which “faction” they’ll live in for the rest of their lives. The factions are based on human traits, and though it’s rare, Tris decides to abandon her faction for a life of danger in a different faction. There she meets an instructor named Four, who she begins a somewhat forbidden romance with.

The film is set to start shooting in Chicago next month. What do you think of this latest casting news? Sound off in the comments section!

Im pretty sure you mean Jai Courtney as Erik, because Will is just a Dauntless transfer and Erik is the Dauntless leader.

Personally, I really dont want them to make a movie, because this just ruined my whole perspective of the characters…

You mean Jai Courtney as Eric?

Do you mean Jai Coutney as Eric? You have two people listed playing Will. I am only halfway through the book but isn’t there only one Will?

Really disappointed with the cast members. Theo James as Four? Really? He’s 28. He’s 10 years older than in the book. He doesn’t fit at all as Four. The eyes, the smile, the charm, Theo doesn’t have it. I at least hope they do a good job on their acting and don’t ruin the movie for all of us who really loved Divergent.

I completely agree with you ariana, its the same with all these new movies (catching fire, the mortal instruments, vampire academy, etc.) coming up because of the amazing books that are written. From the very beginning the casting was off; i in no way in hell pictured Shaiene as tris but yes hopefully the acting will at lesat be good.

I totally agree it should have either been Alex Pettyfer (who was in the running) or Colton Haynes! Though in my opinion they ruined it when they got Shailene Woodley as Tris!
Though i don’t like most of the people who have been casted i hope they change my mind by being like Hunger Games (showing everyone that Jennifer was perfect as Katniss by completely transforming her) showing everyone that it can work!
