The search for Cinderella is over! According to The Hollywood Reporter, British actress Lily James will be wearing the glass slipper for the coveted role in Disney’s upcoming live action adaptation of the hit animated film. Though Emma Watson was considered for the role at one point, it looks like they’ve found their princess in this Downton Abbey star.

The film will be directed by Kenneth Branagh, who most recently directed superhero flick Thor, but don’t worry, he also has a background directing Shakespeare works such as As You Like It and Much Ado About Nothing. We’re sure he’ll be able to give it that regal, princess vibe!

Another big part of the cast includes Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett, who will step into the role of Cinderella’s evil stepmother. Aside from those details, not much about the project is known other than it is expected to hit theaters in 2014.

And as far as we know, it looks like they’re still searching for Prince Charming — literally. Although, Game of Thrones star Richard Madden has been rumored for the part.
