We got our first look at Ravenswood on Tuesday’s Pretty Little Liars, but it seems there are some complications occurring off screen for the upcoming ABC Family show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there has been a bit of a casting shake up, as actress Merritt Patterson will be replacing Elizabeth Whitson.

Elizabeth was set to play the role of Olivia, who is a “former prom queen who is struggling with a recent fall from grace,” but the role will now be played by Merritt. In fact, Merritt had already been cast on the show as Olivia’s best friend Tess, but the producers told THR: ”As we dug deeper into the mythology of Ravenswood we decided to re-conceive the character of Olivia. Merritt Patterson seemed to be the best choice for the direction the character is now headed.”

Filming for Ravenswood is set to begin next month in New Orleans, with other cast members including current PLL star Tyler Blackburn, JONASNicole Anderson, and former L.A. Complex star Brett Dier, who will play Olivia’s twin brother Luke.

Though we got a sneak peek at Ravenswood on Tuesday, we’ll get our first real look at all these characters on PLL‘s annual Halloween episode airing in October, which will then lead into Ravenswood‘s pilot.
