Day 2 of Comic-Con 2013, and it’s not about to slow down anytime soon. Especially with the panel for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. So, as we’re gonna be doing for all of this year’s biggest films, we’ll be live-blogging the Spidey sequel’s press conference. Want the latest on Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone‘s characters? Keep coming back!
3:36 – They’re all done!
3:35 – Very cool moment where Andrew talks about his Entertainment Weekly interview where he wondered if Peter Parker could have a boyfriend. Obviously it won’t work for this current franchise because he’s in love with Gwen, but Andrew says Spider-Man is blind to color, race, sexuality and feels like a gay superhero should be a possibility.
3:24 PM – Teen.com asked Andrew about his relationship with Gwen in the movie and for the most part, he just talked about how hard Peter’s job is as Spider-Man. “It’s like being an emergency aid worker. I could be in the middle of proposing and have to go save a cat and say ‘I love you, I’m sorry, I love you, I love you.’” As for what scenes with Emma stand out in him mind, he just smiled and laughed. Keeping tight-lipped!
3:20 PM – “I try not to look. But then I went into Toys’R'Us last Christmas shopping for my nephews and was like, ‘I’ll meet you guys in the car.’ I needed half an hour to absorb one particular aisle. It was humbling. Really humbling. It doesn’t feel real. It doesn’t feel like me. But it was really cool.” – Andrew on seeing himself as an action figure.
3:13 PM -”It’s just a mess. Peter’s a mess, Spider-Man’s a mess. – Andrew on this movie. “Peter parker has historically been complicated and the more complicated the better. The more guilt the better. The more pain the better. The more joy the better.”
3:10 PM – “We all felt the story got just too big to have two girls. It was the right thing to wait for it. We love this girl and time will tell.” -
3:08 PM – He’s here! Jamie Foxx and Andrew Garfield, along with producers are here to answer questions. Andrew brought a snack! Not sure what it is, in a little white bowl.
2:49 PM – Waiting for Andrew Garfield to come out and wondering if anyone is going to be asking about Shailene Woodley’s character that was reportedly chopped from the second film.
