Congratulations are in order for Kate Middleton and Prince William — they’ve welcomed their first child! The world has been waiting with bated breath for this royal arrival, as the news was announced that Kate was expecting last year. The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, at about 6 AM (London time) on Monday with the baby arriving on July 22 at 4:24 PM, weighing 8 lbs, 6 oz.

It’s not known if the baby is fashionable late though, as many believed her due date to be mid-July, but many thought that was just speculation. However, there are studies that show a woman’s first pregnancy can be late, and since this is their first child, some believed that was the case.

The little prince will be third in line for the crown, as William’s father Prince Charles is next, and William is second. In fact, the little baby boy even bumps its uncle, Prince Harry down a notch in line! The two married in April 2011.
