After the shocking and tragic passing of Cory Monteith, fans of Glee have been left to ponder the fate of the show. But it seems that FOX still has full confidence in the series' success. So much so, that a live-stage production of it is in the pipeline.
At 21st Century Fox's first Investor Day, one of the heads of the company, Gary Newman, praised Glee creator Ryan Murphy, calling his dramedy an "international powerhouse."
He then continued to list the ways in which the show has flourished, and will continue to flourish over the next few years: "We launched a live-stage business with a sold-out arena concert tour in 2011, and now a live-stage musical is in the works." See! He adds, "Two more seasons of the show were ordered by FOX. When you identify the right creator and support a big, creative vision, you get a show like Glee, which is exactly the kind of property that our studio excels at exploiting."
So far, no further details have been given as to who will play each of the characters or where this would even take place. If a live-stage musical of the FOX series premiered near you, would you see it? Tell us your honest thoughts in the comments below, or on our Glee message board!
Psst, we spent an entire day with Glee's Blake Jenner!
