According to TVLine, the X Factor judge is “nearing a deal” to join the dramedy for “a significant arc… [She] will play Dani, a NYC-based struggling artist friend of Rachel and Santana’s. She will also interact frequently with Adam Lambert‘s incoming character, and the pair will have several musical numbers together.
As of right now, it looks like Demi’s deal will call for her to appear on at least six episodes, starting with the second part of Glee tribute to The Beatles on October 3.
This buzz comes hot on the heels of Ryan Murphy‘s announcement about what the plans are for Cory Monteith‘s character, Finn Hudson: “What we’re doing in the episode is we are not telling you yet, or maybe not at all, how that character died. The idea being, how somebody died is interesting and maybe morbid, but we say very early on in the episode, ‘This episode is about a celebration of that character’s life.’ That might be weird for some people, but it felt really exploitative to do it any other way.”
Glee, Season 5 begins on Thursday, September 26. Do you think Demi would be a good addition to the show? Are you still planning on watching the next chapter in the series? Reveal all your thoughts in the comments below, or on our Glee message board!
