Hunger Games fans are in for such a treat this week, as the casting announcements for Mockingjay just keep on coming! On Monday, we learned that Australian newcomer Stef Dawson would be taking on the role of Finnick’s Annie, but now we’ve learned that Evan Ross has joined the cast as well!
The son of legendary singer Diana Ross will be playing Messalla, and just in case you need a refresher, his character is: “part of a TV crew that films propos for the war as part of the Airtime Assault. He was the assistant to the director, Cressida. He was originally from the Capitol but had joined the rebels in the war.” Also, SPOILER ALERT: his character doesn’t make it and is a casualty of the war. (But then again, not many people make it out alive in Mockingjay.)
His character is sure to have lots of interaction with Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer, who plays the head of the camera crew, Cressida.
This isn’t Evan’s first foray into acting, as he starred on the CW’s 90210, and a few other independent features such as Jeff Who Lives at Home.
What do you think of this latest Mockingjay casting news? Is he right for the part? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
