Ladies and gents — we have our Peter Van Houten! Though much of the cast is already in place — they began filming in Pittsburgh on August 26 — The Fault In Our Stars director Josh Boone confirmed via Twitter that Willem Dafoe is set to play the reclusive, hot tempered author.

In case you're not up to speed (but seriously, you should be) TFiOS is based on John Green's best selling novel of the same name, and centers on a 16-year-old cancer patient named Hazel (Shailene Woodley) who meets and falls in love with a boy (Ansel Elgort) she meets in a support group as they deal with their illnesses.

One of the first things these two bond over in TFiOS is Hazel's love for Van Houten's book, An Imperial Affliction. It's about a young girl with cancer, which Hazel can certainly relate to.

However, the book's ending is a bit ambiguous since it literally ends mid sentence, which leads them to track down Van Houten in Amsterdam to find out the ending. We don't want to give anything away, but the meeting doesn't go exactly as planned.

You might recognize Willem from Spider-Man, where he played the villainous Green Goblin. We think he's great for the part!
