It looks like the cast of Mockingjay is just about complete! Back in June it was rumored that Oscar nominee Julianne Moore was in the running to play District 13 President Alma Coin, but it looks like we’ve got the official confirmation.

As usual, The Hunger Games‘ Twitter account announced the news tweeting: “Official! Please welcome Julianne Moore as President Alma Coin to the cast of @TheHungerGames: Mockingjay Parts 1&2″ In case you need a refresher, President Coin “was the President of District 13 and the leader of the rebellion against the Capitol by the people of the districts of Panem.”

And in a bit of a SPOILER, President Coin ends up being a bigger enemy to Katniss than President Snow himself, as Katniss kills her towards the end of Mockingjay, since Coin is essentially responsible for Prim’s death. However, Coin was instrumental in saving Katniss and others from the Quarter Quell arena in order to start up the rebellion.

This will be a bit of a reunion for Julianne and Peeta aka Josh Hutcherson, as the two played mother and son in the 2010 critically acclaimed film, The Kids Are Alright.

Other recent addition to the Mockingjay cast includes Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer as Cressida, Evan Ross as Messalla, and Stef Dawson as Finnick’s beloved Annie.

What do YOU think of this casting news? Is she right for the part? Sound off in the comments!
