These days, if you want to make it in Hollywood, you can’t just have one talent. You need to be able to sing AND act — though it doesn’t really matter which you excel at first. Speaking of, it looks like Rita Ora has been bitten by the acting bug! It’s been confirmed that the 23-year-old “How We Do” singer is set to star in the upcoming movie adaptation of the steamy novel, Fifty Shades of Grey as Christian Grey’s younger sister Mia.
She certainly wouldn’t be the first singer to make the leap from stage to screen. We rounded up some other stars who started off as singers but ended up dabbling in acting as well. Check them out below!

1. Rita Ora
In December 2013, it was announced Rita would star in the highly-anticipated big screen adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.
Back in 2006, Beyonce starred in the Oscar-winning musical Dreamgirls, then in 2008, starred in the action-packed romantic thriller Obsessed.
3. Taylor Swift
Taylor starred in a HUGE ensemble cast for 2010's rom-com Valentine's Day. Also, she's set to hit the big screen again for the upcoming big screen adaptation of The Giver.

Rihanna's navy -- literally! The singer starred in the 2012 action flick Battleship. that was (loosely) based on the popular board game. Isn't she just such a bad-ass?
5. Lenny Kravitz
Lenny's mother was a famous actress, but he didn't start dabbling into acting until he starred in Precious back in 2009. After seeing Lenny in that movie, Hunger Games director Gary Ross called him and offered him the part of Cinna. And the rest is history.
6. Nick Jonas
Nick started off his career singing AND acting on Broadway, but really made a name for himself with music. He then parlayed that into some acting gigs including a guest spot on NBC's Smash and a role in the upcoming thriller Careful What You Wish For.
7. Britney Spears
Again, Brit's career started with The New Mickey Mouse Club where she showed off her acting and singing skills. However, it wasn't until the 2002 film Crossroads that she made a serious return to the big screen.
8. Justin Timberlake
Justin displayed his multitude of talents at a very young age thanks to the MMC, but eventually went down the road of becoming a singer thanks to *NSYNC. Once he wrapped that up, he starred in movies such as Alpha Dog, The Social Network, and Bad Teacher.

Katy had a guest starring role on the popular CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother back in 2011. Spoiler: she's NOT the mother..
10. Carrie Underwood
In addition to starring in NBC's Sound of Music adaptation, she also starred in the 2011 movie Soul Surfer.
11. Jessica Simpson
Jessica starred in a number of forgettable movies, but those all kicked off with the 2005 film, Dukes of Hazzard which was based on the popular TV show of the same name.
12. Jordin Sparks
This American Idol alum starred alongside Whitney Houston in the 2012 remake of Sparkle.
13. Kelly Clarkson
Speaking of AI alum, Kelly Clarkson starred in the box office bomb From Justin to Kelly right after she won the singing competition. We're glad they never did this again.
14. Mandy Moore
Mandy Moore starred in the 2001 film, A Walk to Remember which was based on Nicholas Sparks' popular novel of the same name. She also starred in a number of other films including The Princess Diaries, Because I Said So, and Saved!
15. Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga starred in the 2013 action film, Machete Kills.
16. Christina Aguilera
Christina displayed both of her talents in the 2010 musical Burlesque.
