Like Beyonce suggests in the GIF above, we think Miley Cyrus was quite confused during one of her latest interviews. Because, according to her words, she thinks she’s better than Queen Bey!
Alright, so we’re gonna go out on a limb and say that Miley’s Love magazine cover story was written down prior to the release of the BEYONCE album, but still. These statements should’ve never come out of her mouth (or anyone else’s mouth for that matter) EVER. Here were some of the 21-year-old’s comments:
“Beyonce has been a big inspiration to me, but she’s been out for such a long time. She’s so talented and I think she’s at the top of the game now, but people are always looking for new blood and that’s what I bring to the game now; new blood, I got the total package you know; the curves, the rhythm, and the voice. I’m just the best.”
“As Beyonce grows in motherhood and all the crap it does to your body, it will create a vacuum for fresh young faces to rise up and no one else can properly fill that void right now. I’m the only white female singer that could fill that slot right now and do it right.”
“I just feel like I was born for this time right now. I’m just the total package, you know? All things must start and end and I hope to have the same success as other icons in the game when my run is over. But for now, my run is just starting.”
Girrrl, those be fighting words! Jay-Z‘s one and only has been in the biz since the ’90s — you know, the same decade Miley was born — so now the “Wrecking Ball” crooner’s insinuating that time’s up? WRONG, just… wrong. In fact, there’s still plenty MC could stand to learn from the woman who recently won the Internet:
Modesty. Plain and simple. Have you ever heard Beyonce utter “I’m just the best?” Def not.
How to drop an album with as minimal publicity as possible, and still dominate the charts.
Having a baby does not mean you’ll lose your status. If anything, Beyonce achieved even greater heights after Blue Ivy was born. Hottest mama ever!
Drugs are not cool.
Werking the twerk. None of this sloppy “We Can’t Stop”/VMA action.
And, finally, respect. There’s only one queen here, MiCy.
This is a funny question to ask, but do you think Miley’s better than Beyonce? Is Bey’s time up? We know what our answer is, but we wanna know your thoughts, too!
Here’s who’s in line to be Miley Cyrus’ biggest rival in 2014:
