Even on their way out of the game, the members of The Wanted aren’t prepared to let their, uhh, feelings about One Direction go unsaid. In an interview with The Sun, Max George opens up on the demise of TW, claiming, “One Direction [is] a phenomenon that no one else can compete with. They’ve taken over the market. We have our own fans, who we love, but we couldn’t stop things from happening.”

This comes just days after the announcement that the Word of Mouth tour will be the boy band’s last one ever for an indefinite amount of time “as Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavors following the tour’s conclusion. The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future. They thank their fans for their continued love and support and look forward to seeing them on tour.”

In other words, they’re going “on a break.” But we all know what that means… What do you think of the latest reasoning? Do you think 1D’s responsible for The Wanted’s split? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below, or on our One Direction message board!

No need to bash the site owner/s guys. It’s the Wanted’s fault for giving up, if they really cared, they’d push through it. One D. gets so much love because they don’t blame others if they fail plus to be honest their music is better.

Wow, they broke up? I didn’t even know. & I don’t think Max is blaming them; he’s just saying they’re tough competition. I wish the best for The Wanted but they might make better music if they go solo :)

That’s a big accusation to make! 1D can’t help it if people love them! The Wanted is just jealous.

This is exactly what I expect from a pro- one direction website. For them to get what ever dirt they can get on The Wanted. Yes we all know that Max isn’t a fan of One Direction. But do you really need to rub salt into an open wound? If they were going to break up then they would have just said ” we’re going to break up” Not go on HIATUS!!!! HIATUS means A BREAK! Not a break up! Get you facts right. The Wanted will come back!
