Man Repaints Katniss Everdeen Barbie the Way Katniss Should Be Portrayed

Yes, yes and YES. While we patiently await for Mattel’s thoughts on the petition for a plus-sized Barbie doll, there’s someone who’s been quite proactive in showing more accurate depictions of people’s faces, utilizing the otherwise disproportionate plastic toy. His name: Noel Cruz.

Since 2009, the artist has been repainting Mattel’s lackluster designs, giving them a more realistic edge and selling them for a hefty profit. Most recently, he’s taken the doll of Jennifer Lawrence‘s character in Catching Fire, Katniss Everdeen, and molded it into a more J.Law-looking fashion. Usually, it retails for about $25, but Noel managed to sell it on eBay for a whopping $1,980.55!

But jenifer lawrence is not plus size, i love this concept, but please do not call her plus size. That in and of itself will give girls the wrong impression of what plus size means

    • Tara

That isn’t what she said. She meant that there is no plus sized doll but that this kind of accuracy is great for the whole doll thing in the mean time. She definitely never said that Jennifer was plus sized!!!

  • Sammy

    Woah! Those are really cool!
