Actors have the opportunity to play all kinds of different characters. However, some of the most interesting roles aren't works of fiction, but come from people's real stories. Take for instance, Ashley Greene. It's just been confirmed that the Twilight actress will play Priscilla Presley — aka the ex-wife of Elvis Presley — in an upcoming film, and this got us thinking about all the other actors who've played people who actually exist.

1. Jennifer Lawrence as (Sort of) Marie Weinberg

Jen's portrayal of the wife of a con artist in American Hustle scored her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, but her character Roslyn was apparently very different than the woman IRL. Either way, J-Law nailed the performance.

3. Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe

Michelle's portrayal of the iconic Hollywood legend in My Week With Marilyn earned her an Oscar nomination, but she lost to Meryl Streep -- who won for playing former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher.

Ashton played the Apple founder in the 2013 film, Jobs. The resemblance is uncanny!

Speaking of, Dan's Harry Potter co-star nailed her performance as "Nikki" aka Alexis Neiers, who was a troubled teen who was part of the infamous "Bling Ring." Though Emma's Valley Girl accent could have used some work, her overall performance was great.

We think the Best Actor Oscar Jamie won for his portrayal of the iconic singer in Ray says it all.
