Ways to deal with boredom: 1. Hang out with your friends. 2. Watch TV. 3. Read a book. 4. Go to the mall. 5. Play outside… The list is endless! You know what's not on there, though? Sending out terrorist threats. To anyone. Pretty apparent to most, but not to all as that's exactly what one 14-year-old girl from the Netherlands did this past weekend because she was "bored."
In a tweet to American Airlines, the teen in question, Sarah, who's clearly a Demi Lovato fan as she went by @QueenDemetriax_ on Twitter (though, the account is now suspended), wrote, "Hello, my name is Ibrahim and I am from Afghanistan. I am part of Al Qaeda and on June 1 I am gonna do something really big bye."
While it may've seen all sorts of hilarious to the young girl, American Airlines responded with the following message, "Sarah, we take these threats very seriously. Your IP address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI."
Soon, AA deleted the tweet, but followed up with a statement, "At American, the safety of our passengers and crew is our number one priority. We take security matters very seriously and work with authorities on a case by case basis."
Prior to the suspension of her account, Sarah laughed about the situation, saying she did it because she was "bored" and couldn't actually be a terrorist because she's a 14-year-old "white girl." More tweets here:
