Looks like that live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast that’s been rumored for years is finally getting the push to the big screen. With the recent success of Maleficent — which banked more than $170 million worldwide in its opening weekend(!) — Disney’s wasting no time developing its next non-animated fairy tale flick.

According to Variety, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1 & Part 2 director Bill Condon is set to take the reins on the latest version of the movie, which was released by Disney as a cartoon in 1991. Guillermo del Toro was said to direct the upcoming film back in 2012, but that proved to be nothing more than a rumor.

So far, there’s been no word on who will star in the fresh take on the classic. Do you have anyone in mind? Tell us your thoughts on who should play Belle, Beast and the rest of your faves!

Hey, remember when Emma Watson was rumored to be in the live-action Beauty and the Beast?
