Love is a roller coaster, with some serious ups and downs. Celebrity love is basically your average romance… with double the complications. When it comes to celeb romance, everything is SO freaking intense, because everyone is under a microscope throughout the relationship. Even if the duo is well liked and totes in love, like our favorite new couples of 2015, someone always has something to say about their relationship, which sucks.
When a couple breaks up, it gets way worse, if you can imagine that. Sure, some stars are better off when they call it quits with their famous bae, but that’s not always the case. Sadly, some celebs can never really move on, and admit that they are still smitten with their former flame. The weirdest post-breakup dynamic, however, is when one celeb is beyond happy for their ex’s new relationship. Seriously, it’s super bizarre (but awesome, when you think about it). See what we mean below:
Joe Jonas for Demi Lovato & Wilmer Valderrama
Everyone knows that Demi and Joe were an item back in 2010, but the two are definitely just friends now. In fact, Joe is really good friends with Demi's longtime BF Wilmer, who she began dating in 2010 and briefly broke up with in 2012 (they are currently together, thank goodness). The bromance between these two guys proves that the former Jonas Brothers singer is super supportive of Demi's current relationship. It's actually Demi who thinks Joe's relationship with Wilmer is a little weird at times. "It's weird. In the beginning, I was like, 'Why the f*** are you friends with Joe?'" Demi previously told Cosmopolitan. "[Wilmer] was like, 'He's a cool guy.' [And I said] 'Yeah, I know. I dated him,'" she added. Oh, Dems!

Nina Dobrev for Ian Somerhalder & Nikki Reed
While some fans still ship Nina and Ian, who dated for three years, Ian is now married to Nikki and Nina is totally supportive. Although The Vampire Diaries co-stars were SO cute together (both on and off screen), they broke up in 2013 and in 2014 Ian began dating Nina's friend, Nikki. In May 2015, the 26-year-old actress finally opened up about her ex's April 2015 nuptials and she was classy and SO mature about it. "When I heard about the wedding, I thought it was beautiful. They look happy and I am happy and so I don't see why there should be a problem with that," Nina told E! News. "The drama is in the media, it's not with us. But of course, we're on a teen drama show, everyone's going to look for drama. If there's no drama, there's nothing to write about. I just ignore it." Wow, you go girl.

Johnny Galecki for Kaley Cuoco & Ryan Sweeting
Back in 2013, when Kaley had just gotten engaged to her tennis player beau, Ryan (who she married in on New Year's Eve in 2013 and then filed for divorce from in 2015), her ex revealed he was really excited for her. The Big Bang Theory co-stars, who play lovers Penny and Leonard, secretly dated for two years, but there were no hard feelings once they broke up. At the Los Angeles premiere of CBGB, Johnny told E! News that he was "very happy for her." The two have remained friends, and Johnny has even helped Kaley through her recent split from Ryan.

Michelle Rodriguez for Cara Delevingne & St. Vincent
In June 2015, the Fast & Furious star proved she was anything but jealous about her former flame's new romance. Michelle and Cara dated in early 2014, but after they called it quits, neither one seemed too broken up about it. Cara then began dating St. Vincent (whose real name is Annie Clark) in spring of 2015 and even opened up about her romance in the July issue of Vogue. Once news broke that the model and singer were together, Michelle added her opinion about the couple into the mix. "Oh that's so sexy, you go girl!" Michelle told E! News once she heard about Cara's new GF. "Work it out! I think that's hot! For her to come out, god bless, I think that's beautiful."

Ryan Phillippe for Reese Witherspoon & Jim Toth
Ryan and Reese were married from 1999 to 2007 and they have two adorable children together, named Ava and Deacon. Even though their divorce was so sad, because they seemed perfect together, the two have remained friends for their children. When the Hot Pursuit actress got engaged to her now-husband Jim in 2010 (who she married in 2011), Ryan was the nice guy we all hoped he’d be. "I'm very happy for both Reese and Jim," Ryan said in a statement to the Daily News in December 2010. "I wish nothing but the best for the mother of my children." Aw.

Brad Pitt for Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux
Brad's relationship with his ex wife has been very complicated since the two got divorced in 2005 (they were married for five years). Brad and Jen were NOT friends once they split and a lot of it was due to his relationship with Angelina Jolie, who Brad dumped Jen for after they began filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Despite their complicated history, when Jen got engaged to Justin in 2012 (who she married in 2015), Brad reportedly reached out to congratulate her. "Brad gave Jen a quick call to say how pleased he was to hear that she was getting married," a source told The Mirror at the time. "He wished her luck and told her he hopes they're very happy together." Let's hope this actually happened and the two have finally burred the hatchet.

Minka Kelly for John Mayer & Jennifer Aniston
When John and Jennifer began dating in April 2008 (they broke up in January 2009) they got the approval from one of the most unlikely people. The "Who You Love" singer's ex GF Minka, who he dated for a couple of months in 2007, was all for this new love. "I'm really happy — as long as they’re happy, I am," the Friday Night Lights actress told People in 2008.
Drew Barrymore for Fabrizio Moretti & Kristen Wiig
The Charlie's Angels star was in a relationship with Fabrizio, the drummer for The Strokes, for a while, but they broke up back in 2007. When Kristen began dating the musician in 2012, Drew was a little caught off guard, but happy for the duo nonetheless. According to reports, Drew described the relationship as "wacky and incestuous," but then said she was happy for Kristen, who is one of her friends. Sadly, these two didn't last and Kristen and Fabrizio called it quits in 2013.
Nick Cannon for Mariah Carey & James Packer
Nick isn't like most exes. After being married to the "You're Mine" singer for eight years (2008 to 2015), he was actually really happy that his ex began dating someone new. They do after all, have two kids together, twins Monroe and Moroccan, so it makes sense to be cordial and not bitter. According to E! News Nick is okay with Mariah moving on and dating James. "Nick and Mariah are on better terms these days. Mariah is in really good spirits and there has not been arguments with them for sometime now," a source exclusively told E! News. "Nick is doing really well in his personal life and he just wants Mariah to be happy. He feels as long as his kids are in good hands, he will support any decision Mariah makes."

Michael Vartan for Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck
Although Jennifer and Ben are currently going through some marital issues, having announced they are splitting after 10 years of marriage in June 2015, before they got together they were wished good luck by Jennifer's ex. Jennifer dated her Alias co-star in 2004 and although they didn't last very long as a couple, she is still friends with Michael. When Jen told Michael about her engagement to Ben, he joked about being in a future movie with Ben, showing he was over the past relationship. "Jennifer and I were best friends first, during [the romance] and after," the Never Been Kissed actor told USA Today back in 2005. "I'm hoping Ben will put me in one of his next movies."

Common for Serena Williams & Drake
Although many fans do not believe that Serena and Drake were actually an item they were reportedly low-key dating starting in the summer of 2015 (and reportedly split up in October 2015). Serena's ex, Common, however definitely believed the rumors and he is totally fine with the tennis star hooking up with Drake. "As long as she's happy, I'm good," Common told TMZ in August 2015. The musician dated Serena in 2007 and he is just happy that she is happy, no matter who it’s with. "That's my friend. We dated. That's been done a long time ago. So now we're friends," he added.
