Weeks After Ariana Grande’s Split, She Moved on to Another (More Famous) Bae

by: on | in Celebrities | No Comments

Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez seemed so happy together, so when they broke up in the middle of July, fans were pretty shocked. But while the “Into You” singer was clearly upset at the time, it looks like she’s not dwelling on the past at all.

Just days after Ari and and the dancer split, she was seen hanging out with rapper and former collaboration partner Mac Miller at Disneyland.

The pair was then seen together again, this time playing Pokémon GO.

It all started to make sense when the 23-year-old released a remix to her new single, featuring the 24-year-old.

So, case solved, right? Ariana and Mac are just friends. Not so fast…

The musicians didn’t stop hanging out after their collab was released and were actually just spotted together at LAX, jetting off to an unknown destination together.

If fans thought the Ari-Mac relationship was heating up before, this definitely pushed ’em over the edge, but they’re not too happy about it at all.

Nothing is confirmed at this point, and the musical duo may very well just be rekindling their longtime friendship. As the former Nickeldeon star has said in the past, “A girl can be friends with someone with a d*ck and not hop on it.”

If this news is true, Ari and Mac can be added to the list of couples who started dating after making music together:

Nathan Sykes & Ariana Grande

The former lovebirds collaborated on "Almost Is Never Enough" for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones soundtrack and it created a fast and very public relationship. After working together on their duet, the two denied that they were dating but in late September 2013, The Wanted singer confirmed that they were in fact an item. Ariana was then seen in Nathan's band's music video for the "Show Me Love" song. The relationship was short lived and the pair ended things in late 2013. Good thing we still have their duet to play on repeat when we're feeling down.

Big Sean & Ariana Grande

Big Sean was featured in the Scream Queens star's song, "Right There" and their chemistry was pretty undeniable. Even in the music video, which featured Patrick Schwarzenegger you could see the spark between Big Sean and Ariana. The song was released in 2013 and in October 2014 the duo revealed they were a couple. They dated for eight months before breaking up in April 2015. Big Sean went on to write a song about their break up, but Ariana refused to say anything about their relationship on her album.

Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert

Although Blake and Miranda have recently split their love story is one for the storybooks. In 2005, when Blake was still married to Kaynette Williams, he performed "You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma" with Miranda at the CMT 100 Greatest Duets concert and it was love at first singing duet. Blake later told Behind the Music, which aired on VH1 that "Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her right there on stage." Swoon!

The couple started dating after Blake got a divorce from his first wife in 2006 and on May 14, 2011 they got married in Texas. For many years these two were Country royalty and their romance gave us numerous collaborations as a result. Sadly as of summer 2015, they are no longer a couple.

Chad Kroeger & Avril Lavigne

Avril and Chad teamed up to work on her Avril Lavigne album in 2012 (it was released in 2013) and that’s when the sparks flied. The musical pair began dating in July 2012 and got engaged only a month later, which is still pretty wild. They tied the knot on July 1, 2013 and were SO cute together. The album they worked together on dropped a few months later and it’s great. They sang, "Let Me Go" together on the album and it was very popular. Although their music was pretty magical together, their relationship didn't last and in 2015 the couple revealed they were breaking up.

Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony

J-Lo and Marc have two children together and are now divorced, but before all of that they made music together and that’s how their romance originally began. The two reportedly met by chance at a recording studio and after Marc asked Jennifer to be in one of his music videos, Jen said yes, but on one condition. She wanted to work on a duet together. The pair recorded a Spanish translation of "Non Amarmi" and it was a Hot Latin Songs chart topper.

Their musical collaboration led to them dating and eventually getting married in 2004. They even toured together in 2007 before having twins in 2008. They ended their marriage in 2012 and the rest is history.

Calvin Harris & Rita Ora

In 2013 Rita and Calvin met as a result of their management teams pairing them together. According to reports the pair was supposed to plan a surprise performance together at the Virgin Media V Festival, which they did, and it ended up being this performance that started their romance. According to The Mirror the duo did perform at the festival and they also had a special "love buggy" that took them to and from the stage together so they could be alone. Very interesting! The pair called it quits in early 2014 and although they've had a rocky relationship since the breakup they did collaborate on "I Will Never Let You Down," which is great tune, but caused a LOT of drama between the two.

Joe Jonas & Demi Lovato

The Disney darlings began dating after meeting on set of the Disney Channel Original Movie, Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2. While filming, the pair sang a lot of songs together including, "This Is Me." Demi and Joe went on tour together as well and did a lot of musical collabs before they were officially an item. When they were an item, it was only for a few months. The two former Disney stars called it quits in 2010, which sucked for their fans. Although they are no longer together, any time they reunite to sing, which they have done in the past, fans freak out and we SO get it!

Selena Gomez & Zedd

Sel and Zedd didn't really say anything about their relationship publicly until they broke up, but all the signs were there. In early 2015, Zedd's "I Want You To Know" song featuring Selena was released and when his music video came out it sparked some serious dating rumors. The couple was then seen out in Los Angeles together and at the Grammys holding hands. In July 2015, "The Heart Wants What It Wants" singer revealed that they were an item for a little bit. "I adore Anton [Zedd] a lot and I definitely had a thing with him, which was nice," she told a New Zealand radio show. Too bad they broke up, because they were SO cute together.
