Less than a week after the news of Kendall Jenner‘s relationship with A$AP Rocky (a.k.a. Rakim Mayers) made headlines, and she’s already off to a bad start. Apparently, the 20-year-old model has been sworn off by at least one of the 27-year-old rapper’s family members, his stepmother, Kari Mayers.
“I’ve heard all about him dating Kendall and I don’t like it,” she told Daily Mail. “Everything I hear about the Kardashians makes me think they are a bad family for Rakim to be involved with. They are just not the kind of people I’d like to see him hanging around with. I don’t want him being dragged into that circus, he is too good for that and can do so much better.”
She continued, “He might be dating Kendall, but I honestly cannot see him settling down any time soon. He is just like his dad, who was a major player and had 12 kids in total by four different woman; he was a womanizer and I think Rakim is too.”
However, that doesn’t mean she’s not down with her stepson dating a famous woman. “We met both his ex-girlfriends, Chanel [Iman] and Iggy [Azalea] and were sad when it ended with Iggy as she was such a lovely girl, and so down to earth.”
“But Rakim is loving his life right now and doing his thing and I can’t see that changing any time soon,” she added. “Not even for a Kardashian.”
Recently, there were other reports that KJ’s been hooking up with LA Lakers player Jordan Clarkson, but the initial stories of her connection to A$AP Rocky started early February. It was only last week when Us Weekly boasted that the two are now “full-on dating.”
A$AP Rocky’s stepmama isn’t the first to diss Kendall. All of these fashion icons did as well:
Ouch — this shade was only thrown at Kylie, and she was not happy about it. After Kendall had been featured in Vogue several times, Kylie decided it was her time to grace the famous pages herself. Unfortunately, Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour wasn't having it. According to reports, Anna was very polite toward Kylie, but totally turned her down because Kylie's just not on Kendall's level! Instead, the fashion industry queen offered Kylie a Teen Vogue spread, but Kylie def wasn't happy about it. It's so hard to be KJ.
The world-famous designer recently had some harsh criticism for his brand's marketing team, revealing that if he were still calling the shots, he never would have hired Kendall Jenner! Not only is he unimpressed with her modeling, but he said he wasn't even sure who she is: "It's not the kind of thing I would have done ... Now, models are paid for how many followers they have. They're booked not because they represent the essence of the designer, which is what I tried to do — they're booked because of how many followers they have online. I don't think that, long-term, is going to work. I don't think that's a great formula for success for the product you're trying to sell." Sorry, Kendall, but whatever, he's not in charge anymore!
Back when Giuliana was a regular on Fashion Police, she didn't hold back her opinions. Not only did she mock some of their outfits, but she even once said that Kendall's pelvic bone was weird-looking. That's just unnecessary.
Forget Giuliana; the meanest of the mean on Fashion Police was, of course, Joan Rivers. Once, when Kendall wore a long dress with just a slim piece of fabric covering her crotch area, Joan dropped this cutting line: "She looks like she's wearing a Persian rug to cover her Armenian carpet." Thanks so much for that imagery, Joan.
A fashion star in her own right, Selena isn't usually one to throw shade at other celebs. But she has a special distaste for Kendall and Kylie, both of whom are friends with her ex, Justin Bieber. After Kylie posted a selfie with the Biebs, Selena reportedly had some snarky words for Kylie, calling her "desperate," "pathetic" and a "groupie." Pretty sure we're not going to see these two beauties hanging out again anytime soon.
No matter how successful Kendall becomes in the modeling world, there will always be people who are just turned off by the Kardashian brand. Tim Gunn's one of those people. When asked if Kendall Jenner has "it," that special x-factor model quality, he said this: "I think absolutely nothing [of her], to be perfectly honest. And I'm assuming there's a huge, perhaps million dollars a month, publicity wagon that is pulling these girls along and creating these lives for them. I'm distrustful of it and I find it all distasteful... I don't know her — she may be a perfectly lovely young woman. I just feel that she's tainted by the Kardashian aura of yuck."
In short, apparently Kendall will never be able to "make it work."
