There’s a reason why people say Breaking up is hard to do, and that applies to celebrities, too. There are inevitable awkward run-ins and underhanded social media comments, plus there’s always potential for a post-split diss track. If you truly want to d-r-a-g your famous ex-bae, however, it seems the thing to do is call ’em out in a music video (or during a live performance).
One of the most fun ways to get music-video-vengeance against an old lover (for us! not for the ex OBVS) is when the musician finds a lookalike of their former flame and casts them in a vid. Justin Timberlake‘s savage “Cry Me a River” may be the most iconic example of this — but a lot of other stars have now done the same, too.

"Shout Out to my Ex" just might be the most savage breakup song of 2016. The lyric, "I hope she getting better sex / hope she ain't faking it like I did" will probably go down in history as one of the best song lines of all time and it's all thanks to Perrie Edwards' split from the "Pillowtalk" singer.
Little Mix also decided to make the insult just a little deeper in their single's music video when they gave a cameo to a guy who suspiciously looks a lot like the blonde's ex-fiancé. In the vid, the girls point and laugh at faux-Zayn and leave him stranded on the side of the road. We love it!

Our girl Tay is known for calling out her famous exes in her songs, so it should be no great surprise that she found a lookalike of her former bae for a music video, right?
After her breakup with the JoBro, Taylor chose Justin Gaston to play her music video love interest and obviously people couldn't help but notice the similarities between the two dudes.

Famous Ex: Selena Gomez
JB and Sel's relationship has been the super hot and cold ever since they started dating in 2010. Justin revealed that his song "What Do You Mean" was one of three ("three," he claims... pretty sure it's more like every track) about his ex on his last album, Purpose. His video girl looked a lot like the former Wizards of Waverly Place star, too.
Actually, it was the second time that the Biebs used a Selena lookalike in his music videos — Back in 2012, the young woman in the vid for his single "Boyfriend," looked A LOT like his GF at the time, as well.

Famous Ex: Britney Spears
The former Mouseketeers were the "it couple" and survived some truly heinous outfits (like the infamous matching denim ensembles at the 2001 AMAs), but they couldn't survive Brit's alleged cheating. The "Sexy Back" guy called out his former love in his song, "Cry Me a River" after rumors emerged that she hooked up with choreographer, Wade Robson.
Nothing really seemed confirmed until the music video premiered in 2002 and everyone noticed that the music video girl was BASICALLY Britney's twin...she's certainly got the outfit down!

Famous Ex: Chris Brown
The "We Found Love" music video is an artful masterpiece but no one can overlook the uncanny resemblance between Dudley O'Shaughnessy and Breezy. Rihanna and Chris' roller-coaster relationship seemed to be mirrored in the music video, as well.

Ray J has promised that this song isn't about his reality star ex-GF but come on; we're not stupid. The first line of the song is "She might move on to rappers and ballplayers but we all know I hit it first." Then in the music video, a dark-haired beauty is seen on what looks like a home video, which is an OBVIOUS reference to the leaked Kim K sex tape.
The two dated for five years before splitting up in 2007, but the song wasn't released until 2013 when Kim and Kanye West were already together. Kanye responded to the track on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon when he changed the lyrics to his song "Bound 2" and said, "Brandy's little sister lame man he know it now." (Psst: if you hadn't guessed by now, the "One Wish" singer is Brandy's younger bro.)

Famous Ex: Amber Rose
This music video made headlines because it featured a naked Taylor Swift lookalike, but it also showed a fake Amber Rose in her birthday suit. Though the two broke up six years ago, Amber spoke out about the inclusion of her wax figure in the video, mentioning the idea that people think her relationship with Kanye is what "made her famous."
"The misconception — and I still hear this seven years later, to this day — is, 'You're only famous for Kanye,'" she said — also stating she "worked [her] *ss off" so get to the place she is today.
Other wax figures in the video were Donald Trump, Chris Brown and Rihanna, among others.

Famous Ex: Hugh Hefner
This former playboy bunny isn't known for having musical talents, so it was surprising when she announced she had a music video coming out earlier this year. With the title "Lost in Space," it definitely sticks to the theme but includes several WTF is going on moments, too. Seems like the Girls Next Door reality-star-turned-rapper(?) has a thing for older guys — since her co-star was practically twice her age (like Hef) and had a very old-timey look to him!

Famous Ex: Kate Moss
It almost seemed like a coincidence that The Kills stopped recording music the year that guitarist Jamie Hince married Kate, but then when they started making songs again after the pair broke up four years later — fans seemed to think the model was the reason for the hiatus. Worse yet, reports leaked that Jamie would be citing adultery on his divorce papers, publicly dragging Kate's name through the mud. But he didn't stop there.
In the music video "Do it to the Death," the lead singer, Alison Mosshart dresses as Kate and most of the video takes place in a cemetery. Perhaps the guitarist is making a nod towards the death of their marriage? Jamie himself does emerge from a coffin at one point during the vid.
