Here’s Why Fans Think Dove Cameron is Dating One of Her Female Co-Stars

by: on | in Celebrity Couples | No Comments

Dove Cameron‘s October 2016 breakup with longtime love Ryan McCartan came as a total shock. The co-stars from Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie got engaged less than six months prior — what went wrong? According to the 23-year-old male singer, it was his now-21-year-old ex who “decided this relationship isn’t what she wants.” Hey, it happens. Better off knowing now than after the walk down the aisle, right?

Since then, it seems like everyone’s become obsessed with the platinum blonde’s personal life, particularly her whole dating situation. Like when she was spotted locking lips with her Hairspray Live co-star, Garrett Clayton, days before the show’s broadcast — people freaked the eff out, and it was, apparently, only for rehearsal! So you can bet that when she posted a video of herself kissing another co-star, totally NOT on set, fans went absolutely crazy.

On January 15, Dove rang in her 21st birthday. As part of the celebratory weekend, she went to Las Vegas with her pal from the 2014 Disney Channel Original Movie Cloud 9, 23-year-old Kiersey Clemons, and the two got coordinating ink:

But that’s far from all they did — the two Disney alums also held hands, as evidenced in separate snapshots, and even shared a smooch on Snapchat:

While this could simply be a peck between two best friends — ’cause celeBFFs kiss each other just ’cause all the time — Dove’s Twitter likes suggest otherwise:

Dove liked every single one of those posts. Sure, she could be trolling… but it could also mean something more. What do you think, guys??
Dove & Ryan make up one pair of a bunch of couples that broke up after a short engagement:

Ryan McCartan & Dove Cameron

When the Liv and Maddie co-stars announced their engagement in April 2016, after nearly 3 years of dating, Disney Channel fans everywhere freaked the eff out. It was like a fairy tale!

But the dream was short-lived. Nearly 6 months later, at the beginning of October 2016, The Girl and the Dreamcatcher was no more. "Dove has decided this relationship isn't what she wants," Ryan wrote on Twitter. "We still love each other very much. Please be sensitive, as this is painful. I love you all. Thanks for keeping me up."

Big Sean & Naya Rivera

It only took about 6 months of dating for Big Sean to pop the question to the Glee alum in October 2013. It seemed a bit rushed, but, hey, who are we to judge?

Fast forward another 6 months, though, and the two were whistling a different tune. In April 2014, his rep announced, "After careful thought and much consideration, Sean has made the difficult decision to call the wedding off."

Apparently, it was far from amicable. "[Big Sean and I had] been fighting for 5 straight days while he was traveling," Naya wrote in her 2016 memoir, Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing. "And then on the one day that he was back in LA, he said he didn't want to see me. 'Well, a**hole, I've got a key to your house.'"

Here's where things get interesting: "I walk in, go downstairs and guess what little girl is sitting cross-legged on the couch listening to music?… It rhymes with 'Smariana Schmande.'" WHA-?!

Chanel Iman & A$AP Rocky

After a year-long relationship, rumors that the model and the rapper got "secretly engaged" ran rampant in April 2014. Whether or not it was true was never confirmed (nor denied).

Doesn't matter either way, though, 'cause the duo called it quits by October 2014. "It was just not working out with both of their busy travel schedules," E! News reported at the time.

The following year, A$AP Rocky told Vibe, "I got really depressed because I knew that — she deserves better than me. That's the truth and everybody knows it... I love her so much so that I would rather [fall back] than to be with her and hurt her. I don't want to hurt her. Not that I'm saying she's some piece of meat that I could just play with. Nah. I'm just saying, just to be mature about things in life — I do know where I am in life — I'm still having fun and I'm young and I need to focus on my career. I still have her. She's still in my life. It's a win-win situation."

Josh Resnik & Kaley Cuoco

Before the Big Bang Theory actress tied the knot with (and, subsequently, divorced) Ryan Sweeting, she was actually engaged to someone else: addiction specialist Josh Resnik. Kaley's rep confirmed the engagement news in October 2011.

But things quickly changed. In March 2012, 5 months after the announcement, she informed Entertainment Tonight, "I'm not engaged anymore." No details, just dunzo.

Lance Armstrong & Sheryl Crow

After nearly 2 years together, the champion cyclist put a ring on the singer-songwriter's finger, after asking for her hand in marriage in October 2005.

5 short months later, in February 2006, the relationship went kaput. "She wanted marriage, she wanted children," Lance explained in his 2009 book, Lance. "And not that I didn't want that, but I didn't want that at that time because I had just gotten out of a marriage, I'd just had kids. Yet we're up against her biological clock — that pressure is what cracked it."

Riley Keough & Alex Pettyfer

The pair was first spotted kissing in October 2011, but it didn't take long for Elvis Presley's granddaughter and her Magic Mike co-star to get serious about their relationship. In March 2012, the Magic Mike co-stars reportedly got engaged. The evidence: a big fat rock on her ring finger.

Sadly, 5 months later, in August 2012, there were reports that Alex cheated on Riley with a lingerie model. As far as we know, Riley never wore the ring after that.

Paris Hilton & Paris Latsis

Ah, Paris-Squared. The two were just a couple of early-twenty-somethings when they started dating in December 2004. They were a couple of early-twenty-somethings when they got engaged 5 months later, in May 2005... and they continued to be early-twenty-somethings when their engagement was over nearly 5 months later, at the end of September.

The hotel heiress told Us Weekly, "I'm sad to announce that I've called off my engagement. Over the last couple months, I've realized that this is the right decision for me. We remain best of friends, and I'll always love him. I hope people will respect my privacy during this emotional time."

Jared Padelecki & Sandra McCoy

Today, Jared is a happily married man with his third(!) child on the way. But things were far different for the Supernatural star a decade ago.

In 2005, he was seeing his Cry_Wolf co-star, Sandra. 3 years later, he popped the question in April 2008. However, a lifetime of happiness wasn't in the cards for this particular pairing.

During a convention for his hit CW series in June, 2 months after the happy announcement, Jared informed fans that the relationship was finito.
