Public Reminds Ariana That She’s Not the “Hardest-Working 23-Y.O.” Like She Says

by: on | in Celebrity News | No Comments

There Ariana Grande goes again, putting her foot in her mouth. The 23-year-old ~dangerous woman~, who once boasted, “I hated America” — and was even part of a police investigation because she licked a doughnut that wasn’t hers — is bringing the dramz into 2017, and we’re not even three full weeks in. And it’s all because of this one Instagram post:

The picture itself isn’t the problem; it’s what the “Into You” singer wrote as the caption. “when you’re cute but you’re also the hardest working 23 year old human being on earth,” she wrote, along with the hashtags #cute #butalso #CEO #unf*ckwitable #haventsleptinyears. While it’s great that Ari is clearly flourishing in the confidence arena — considering she refers to herself as both cute and hard-working — people are calling out her lack of humble pie, noting that she is not, actually, the hardest-working 23-year-old human being on earth:

The public even took care to remind her of people her age in the military:

The Internet also gave a shoutout to Ari’s privilege as a celebrity:

Ariana’s statement could’ve been more of an exaggeration rather than a cocky comment, or she could truly believe that she is the hardest-working person her age; she does, after all, have jam-packed schedule. So far, she hasn’t responded to any of the harsh backlash regarding her caption.
Speaking of Ariana Grande’s work, here are 10 songs she collaborated on with one of her BFs:

'O Holy Night'

UPLOADED: March 6, 2009

You could've heard Ari and Graham Phillips sing together on Broadway's 13: The Musical back in the day, but it was this cover of a Christmas carol at a party in South Africa that sent fan hearts ablaze.

'Stick Around'

RELEASE DATE: November 20, 2009

It's been said that Ari and Graham recorded several duets together, but this is one of the only ones that made its way to the Internet. Ari posted it on her YT channel in 2009, but, unfortunately, deleted it a couple of years later.

'The Way'

RELEASE DATE: March 25, 2013

When Ariana started seeing Mac Miller a few weeks back, fans immediately started replaying the lead single from Yours Truly. It's been 1 1/2 years since its release, but, clearly, the two still remained in contact.

'Right There'

RELEASE DATE: August 6, 2013

Long before Ariana and Big Sean first hooked up in August 2014, the two teamed up for her third and final single from her debut studio album, Yours Truly.

"We were talking about a few other songs together," she said at the time. "But it just never worked out and it never was the right moment. And then finally "Right There" came along, and we were like, 'Oh this is it.'"

'Almost is Never Enough'

RELEASE DATE: August 19, 2013

The promotional single from 2013's The Mortal Instruments is still considered highly controversial because it was a catalyst behind Ari's split with longtime boyfriend Jai Brooks.

In October 2013, Jai claimed that Ari cheated on him with her "Almost is Never Enough" duet partner, Nathan Sykes, after they met while recording the collaboration. Ari denied the claims, but Nariana did start making headlines soon after Jariana's demise, sooo...

RELEASE DATE: April 28, 2014

Before Ariana gave love with Jai Brooks another go in May 2014, she worked with future boyfriend Big Sean again on, arguably her most popular single, "Problem," featuring Iggy Azalea.

Though Sean is uncredited as the background vocals on the track, you can definitely see the two getting touchy-feely in the music video.

'Best Mistake'

RELEASE DATE: August 12, 2014

One week after Ari and Big Sean were caught kissing in August 2014, Ari dropped the promotional single off her My Everything album, featuring the rapper.

Around the time of its release, Ari claimed it was her favorite track from her second studio album. "I just think the world of [Big Sean] and I'm obsessed with his writing on this song in particular," she said. "I'm a huge fan of his in general, but I feel like his writing on this song is so, so fantastic, it, like, strikes a chord in my heart. I love it so much."

RELEASE DATE: May 12, 2015

Even though Ariana and Big Sean called it quits in April 2015, he still put their collab on his album, Dark Sky Paradise, a month later. Maybe it was too late to take it off?

The one thing that did change: The tune was initially set to be the fourth official single from the CD. Instead, though, "One Man Can Change the World" served in its place. Perhaps that was a result of the split.

'Over and Over Again'

RELEASE DATE: January 15, 2016

Over two years after Nathan Sykes & Ariana called it quits, he re-released his single, "Over and Over Again," with a featured guest. Yes, you guessed it β€” Ari!

'My Favorite Part'

RELEASE DATE: September 8, 2016

Soon after Ariana and Mac Miller made their relationship public β€” like, really soon after β€” the 24-year-old rapper released "My Favorite Part," the slow-jam collaboration with his new girlfriend, from his upcoming album, The Divine Feminine.
