7 Pairs of Awesome Disney Actors That Were Actually Roommates

by: on | in Celebrities | No Comments

You can thank Disney for a lot of pairings, whether they be best friends — such as Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical), Demi Lovato & Nick Jonas (Camp Rock) and Rowan Blanchard & Sabrina Carpenter — or (now-defunct) celebrity couples — including Vanessa Hudgens & Zac Efron (High School Musical), Demi Lovato & Joe Jonas (Camp Rock) and Dove Cameron & Ryan McCartan (Liv and Maddie). And, apparently, the same could be said for celebrity roommates.

Okay, so not all of the following roomies met because of Disney (Channel or movies), but the company is one of the ways that they’re alike. (NOTE: We didn’t include any pairings that were connected romantically nor any of the pairings that are related — ’cause, like, obviously the Jonas Brothers and the Sprouse twins, etc. lived together at some point in their lives.)

Bridgit Mendler & Samantha Boscarino

In 2014, the same month Good Luck Charlie aired its final episode, its leading lady, Bridgit (Teddy), and fan-favorite Samantha (Skyler) decided to take their off-screen friendship to the next level: roomie status.

One year later, in March 2015, the two celebrated their room-iversary together, complete with a cake!

Today, they continue to stick by each other's side — Sam even accidentally inspired Bridgit's latest EP, Nemesis, when she mentioned the word "nemesis" one day.

Raven-Symone & Lindsay Lohan

The That's So Raven alum and the star of Disney classics such as The Parent Trap, Get a Clue and Freaky Friday once called each other roomie... but barely.

"When I first met Lindsay Lohan, we clicked because we did this fashion shoot together," Raven told Global Grind. "We were the only ones that were like, 'What up, girl?'... I'll just say I thought she was from Atlanta the way she was proportioned and acted, when normally girls in the industry look a different way."

"I was like, 'Let me find out you're down,'" she continued. "And she was like, 'Yeah, I eat,' and I was like, 'Good for you, you eat, that's rare!' And so I was like, 'I know you're not going to college right now and I'm not going to college, so let's have a roommate experience.'"

"She was real, real cool actually," Raven remarked. "She became real busy with work, and she never really moved in. I just got rent from her for 14 months."

Daniella Monet & Victoria Justice

You probably know them as co-stars on Nickelodeon's Victorious, but both actresses, who were roommates for a brief time in Memphis, have Disney Channel roots.

In 2005, before she began her stint on Zoey 101, Victoria appeared on an episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody — she even experienced her first kiss on set!

As for Daniella, her Disney start began in 2008. Coincidentally, it was also on an episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

Ashley Newbrough & Lucy Hale

The year before Lucy Hale became a household name for Pretty Little Liars, she was living with her co-star from The CW's short-lived series, Privileged.

"I couldn't have asked for a better twin sister costar, because Lucy is awesome," Ashley told PopSugar in an '09 interview. "We actually are roommates now. We get along very well, we go shopping all the time, we do a lot together, so it's very easy to play twins on camera."

Before they started playing twin siblings, they were both featured on Disney Channel: Ashley in the 2002 DCOM Get a Clue; Lucy on Wizards of Waverly Place.

Matt Shively & Sarah Hyland

The young actors each star on a hit comedy rn — Matt on The Real O'Neals; Sarah on Modern Family — but before they booked their respective big gigs, they were attached to Disney... and roommates.

"When I was 18, my roommate was Sarah Hyland," Matt told Just Jared Jr. "We lived together for six months before she booked Modern Family. We're still very close and now both on ABC shows. It's super surreal."

In case you didn't know, Matt was a part of Disney Channel's short-lived series, Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures, as well as a few episodes of Jessie. As for Sarah, her stint dates all the way back to 1999, on an episode of The Wonderful World of Disney. She went back to the House of Mouse for the 2011 DCOM Geek Charming, after she began her work on Modern Family.

Justin Timberlake & Ryan Gosling

Can you believe it?! In the early '90s, the now-hotties actually bunked off the set of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club.

JT joked with Ellen DeGeneres, "[Ryan and I] were probably a little closer than the rest of the kids that were on the show just because we had to share a bathroom."

Ryan Gosling & Michelle Williams

Prior to filming their 2010 film, Blue Valentine — for which Michelle scored a Best Actress Oscar nomination — R & M lived together to prep themselves to portray a bickering married couple. Michelle recalled of her time with the hottie, "He's so hard to hate. He does the dishes, takes care of the kids..."

Ryan, of course, was part of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, in the early to mid-'90s; Michelle, however, didn't become attached to Disney until 2013's Oz the Great and Powerful, starring James Franco.
