A lot of co-stars — both past and present — have given the whole living-with-each-other thing a try. Some notable famous co-star roommates include Lea Michele & Dianna Agron, when they first started out on Glee, Chace Crawford & Ed Westwick, when they were filming Gossip Girl, even Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien & Tyler Hoechlin, during the early days of Teen Wolf. But, after a bit of research, we think there’s one network that has the most co-star roommates ever: The CW.
Sure, we haven’t researched all the other television networks just yet, but we already looked at Disney Channel, and there were a bunch of Disney roomie pairings, but not all of them were co-stars. In this particular case, there are at least 11 pairs… and ALL of them are co-stars… and that’s only counting girl-girl duos! Check ’em out — you might be surprised by a few:
Kayla Ewell & Nina Dobrev
Vicki Donovan's death on The Vampire Diaries struck a chord for Elena Gilbert, as well as her real-life alter ego, Nina — mostly because of their close off-screen friendship.
When posed with the question of the saddest death on the series during a 2014 Q&A with TV Guide, Nina said, "Kayla Ewell's, hands down. Maybe because she was my roommate at the time and she was the first person to die as a regular on the show. I miss her still."
Nevertheless, they remained the best of friends — Nina even attended Kayla's wedding in 2015 (though, she didn't get to be a bridesmaid, like fellow TVD actress Candice Accola).
Sara Canning & Nina Dobrev
Kayla's not the only TVD star to call Nina 'roomie — Sara did, too!
Though Sara portrayed Aunt Jenna, Nina's character's legal guardian after her parents died, on the series, they're only a year and a half apart in age IRL.
In 2010, Sara told MTV News, "Nina is such a great roommate. We have our own bathrooms, so it's never an issue if one of us wants to take a long shower. And we both make grocery trips whenever we have time, and just share everything. We're both really easy-going. We try to help each other stay healthy, but I usually cave and bring chocolate into the apartment."
Danielle Campbell & Leah Pipes
Before you ever associated Danielle with One Direction's Louis Tomlinson, she was making a name for herself on The Originals as Davina Claire, alongside Leah's Camille O'Connell.
When the brunette beauty first moved to Atlanta, GA, to shoot the Vampire Diaries spin-off, she hit it off so well with the blonde actress that they decided to room together.
Claire Holt & Phoebe Tonkin
Prior to starring on The Vampire Diaries and, eventually, The Originals as Rebekah Mikaelson & Hayley Marshall-Kenner, respectively, the Aussie females became the best of friends while shooting an Australian television series called H2O: Just Add Water. Upon meeting for that show, they opted to be roommates as well.
Britt Robertson & Phoebe Tonkin
It was such a bummer when, after one season, The Secret Circle came to an end. It's been nearly five years and that cliffhanger still irks us! But, at least a few good things came out of the short-lived TV program, including the friendship between the women who brought TSC's Cassie Blake & Faye Chamberlain to life on the small screen.
"Both of us wanted to save on rent," she joked in a 2011 interview with Collider. "No, we are in Vancouver and we know no one, and Phoebe and I get along really well. We both wanted a roommate. I was just going to find someone random on Craig's List, but that's scary. She was like, 'Why don't we just room together?' So then, we found a place and that's how it came to be."
After a busy day on set, you could even have found the two unwinding together. "I go home to my roommate, Phoebe, who is on our show," she explained. "She plays Faye. We make food and we work out."
Britt Robertson & Shelley Hennig
Another roommate-dom that came out of The Secret Circle is the one between Britt & Shelley (Diana Meade).
"I adored [the Secret Circle cast, and they have become a huge part of my life," she told BuzzFeed News in 2015. "I live with Shelley Hennig, Phoebe's one of my best friends and she still has stuff in my garage. I'm so grateful for them because it was a really tough shoot. It was a really grueling shoot, and sometimes the experiences aren't as great as you want them to be. Or, you know, you don't have time with the material, and you feel lost. But when you have good people around you, it just really elevates it."
FUN FACT: Shelley plays (or, well, played) the love interest of Britt's real-life boyfriend, Dylan O'Brien, on Teen Wolf!

Shiri Appleby & Britt Robertson
Pre-TSC, Britt lived with another co-star from another CW drama called Life Unexpected, which premiered the year prior to The Secret Circle (and ended months prior to the debut of the latter).
On the series, Britt portrayed Lux Cassidy, a 16-year-old girl who was put up for adoption, but reunites with her biological mother, Cate, played by Shiri. When the cameras weren't rolling, Shiri said they experienced a mother-daughter-like bond as well.
"I did a house swap with a friend [in West Vancouver], and it's a pretty big house, so I invited Brittany to live with me," she told New York magazine in 2010. "It's a little like having a little sister, sometimes it's like having a mom, sometimes it's like having a kid. Lately it's like having a teenager, 'cause she goes home every weekend. We hang out all week and then she disappears! I feel like a single mother."
Danielle Panabaker & Katie Cassidy
The two have appeared on some of the most kick-butt CW series of all time, most notably Arrow and The Flash.
When Katie (a.k.a. Laurel Lance a.k.a. Black Canary a.k.a. Black Siren) learned that Danielle's character, Caitlin Snow, would be making a few appearances on Arrow, she was super excited. In a 2015 interview with The Mary Sue, Katie said, "Danielle Panabaker is a dear friend of mine. She's actually my roommate. I've known her for a really long time, and her coming, and Caity, and I was just like, 'Yes.' Because Season 1 and 2, it was our show, and I didn't know many people in Vancouver, aside from our cast. It gets a little lonely, but it's awesome. I'm so happy and excited."
Bevin Prince & Sophia Bush
The OTH cast remained tight throughout the years, with Hilarie Burton and Bevin Prince even being bridesmaids in OTH costar Danneel Harris' wedding party.
But, before the actors all started getting married (well, apart from Sophia Bush & Chad Michael Murray early on), a couple of 'em shacked up... in a totally platonic sitch.
According to reports, Tree Hill's Brooke & Bevin were roomies back in the day. Aww.
Ashley Newbrough & Lucy Hale
You know Lucy as one of the four leading ladies on Pretty Little Liars, but she was actually a star of a television drama before then.
The year before PLL premiered, Lucy was living with her co-star/on-screen twin from The CW's short-lived series, Privileged.
"I couldn't have asked for a better twin sister co-star, because Lucy is awesome," Ashley told PopSugar in an 2009 interview. "We actually are roommates now. We get along very well, we go shopping all the time, we do a lot together, so it's very easy to play twins on camera."
Gotta love those Baker girls!
Madelaine Petsch & Lili Reinhart
The reign of Riverdale's only just begun, and the cast is already livin' it up — a couple of 'em in the same home!
"I can't even describe how lucky we are," Lili Reinhart, who plays fan-favorite Betty Cooper on the new series, told People of the real-life friendship among the cast members. "I feel like this is rare, what we have with each other is rare. I live with Madelaine [who plays Cheryl Blossom] — that's proof!"
"After we were done filming the pilot, we both live in L.A. and we realized we live a mile away from each other," she recalled. "We started hanging out over the summer and were like, 'Let's live together in Vancouver,' and the rest is history."
