We know we still refer to them as ‘YouTube stars,’ but people who post videos on the Internet are SO much more than just that. Content creators like Caspar Lee and Joe Sugg broke free from the site to star in feature-length films, while people such as Colleen Ballinger and Todrick Hall found their way onto television. Some YouTubers, however, choose to go in a different direction — modeling.
We know what you’re probably thinking — ‘YT stars modeling? You mean, like, being the face of some random brand that only appears online?’ Actually, that’s not at all what we mean. Some celebrities who found fame thanks to the social media world actually took part in MAJOR fashion shows for MAJOR brands all around the world. In fact, three YouTubers just got finished walking in one of the biggest runway shows during Milan Fashion Week!
At this point, Cameron Dallas is basically the king of Fashion Week. The Viner-turned-YouTuber-turned-model actually opened the Fall/Winter Dolce & Gabbana show at Milan Men's Fashion Week back in January, and then later strutted his stuff again in a second look.
The 22-year-old is also signed with IMG Models and is one of the faces of Calvin Klein. Needless to say, we're sure we'll be seeing him on many more runways in the future.
This British YouTuber seems to be a new fixture in Dolce & Gabbana's fashion shows. The 25-year-old Internet star first walked in the brand's Fall/Winter show at Milan Men's Fashion Week (with Cameron Dallas) in January, and he just recently finished strutting his stuff with girlfriend Stefanie Giesinger at the D&G show during Milan Fashion Week.
Dolce & Gabbana really loves the YouTubers, eh? Jim, who just so happens to be one of Marcus Butler's best friends, was also one of the models who walked in the Fall/Winter 2018 show at Milan Men's Fashion Week in the middle of January.
Mexican YouTuber Juanpa Zurita was yet another Internet star to be featured in Dolce & Gabbana's runway show during Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2017/2018.
Even though it was Milan Men's Fashion Week, Dolce & Gabbana didn't forget about the ladies! Lele joined her male YouTube counterparts as one of the models at the show, writing on Instagram, "Thank you Stefano [Gabbana] and Domenico [Dolce] for letting me be part of the family!"
Cassie went viral for showing the world how she covers her severe cystic acne on YouTube, and the video also caught the attention of the brand Boy Meets Girl.
Designer Stacy Igel cast the 24-year-old in the brand's 2012 New York Fashion Week runway show, saying her looks was "natural, carefree [and] definitely had the vibe of what [she] was casting for the show."
The 26-year-old rocked the heck out of a red robe at the Riani show during Berlin Fashion Week on January 17, 2017. Oh, and did we mention he walked down the runway with his sister? Cool!
