If you’re a part of the YouTube beauty community, you’ll recognize brands like BH Cosmetics, MakeupGeek, ColourPop and Morphe, all of which collaborate with Internet influencers on the regular. We’re not saying anything is wrong with companies that primarily live online — we’re legit DY-ING to get our hands on the new MannyMua x Jeffree Star Cosmetics collab — but it’s a HUGE freakin’ deal for beauty gurus to team up with big makeup brands (we’re talking the iconic ones that can be found in Sephora, Target, etc.).
Last year, Smashbox Cosmetics teamed up with YT superstar Lilly ‘IIISuperwomanII’ Singh to create a limited-edition Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick called Bawse. Despite not being a makeup artist, the 28-year-old’s 11 million subscribers jumped at the opportunity to support their fave and the STUNNING red lippie quickly sold out. Surprised? Not so much.
In the past, many other MAJOR makeup brands have acknowledged the power of YouTubers and worked with them to create iconic products that even those who don’t watch YT videos love. It’s incredible that James Charles is CoverGirl’s first male spokesperson and MannyMua worked with Maybelline for the Big Shot Mascara campaign, but for the sake of this post we’re talking about online stars who actually launched a PRODUCT (or even a whole collection!!!) with a popular makeup company.
Jaclyn Hill first joined forces with BECCA Cosmetics in 2015 to create one limited-edition highlighter called Champagne Pop. The stunning product was SO popular that the brand quickly made it part of their permanent collection...annnnd utilized JH's expertise to make more products!
Last summer, an entire Champagne Collection was released, including a face palette (which included two highlighters and three blushes), a liquid illuminator, AND a cream highlighter. Unfortunately, those products are no longer available, but you can still get your hands on the single shade.
The most recent YouTube beauty guru to launch a product with a major makeup brand is none other than Nicole Guerriero, a Florida-based MUA who's been making videos for more than six freakin' years. The 31-year-old woman collaborated with Anastasia Beverly Hills to make a special Glow Kit, which is basically any highlighter-lover's DREAM.
The palette contains six different shimmery shades that are sure to blind all that look at your cheeks, which might sound like a bad thing, but is actually one of the greatest things that can happen.
Bunny 'Grav3yardgirl' Meyer
Not only did Bunny work with Tarte Cosmetics to make the Swamp Queen eye & cheek palette, but she also made sure to involve her millions of YouTube viewers...well, kinda...
In the kit, fans will see names such as, 'Does This Thing Really Work?,' 'Sweet Tea,' and 'Sippy Sippy,' all tributes to her favorite things, YT series, common sayings, etc.
Jackie's makeup collaboration is the most affordable one on this list, but sadly, it's also the hardest to find. *WAH* The beauty guru teamed up with e.l.f. cosmetics last summer to make the J Glow eyeshadow palette, which retailed for only $6!!
With a price like that, you KNOW the limited-edition product flew off the shelves, so now you can only get your hands on it by paying a pretty petty on Ebay or Amazon. *cries*
Angel 'Mac Daddy' Merino
This male makeup artist teamed up with another social media influencer to create PÜR Cosmetics' Royalty Collection for Holiday 2016. The 26-year-old YouTuber focused his attention on making five metallic Eye Polishes (basically smudge-proof, water-resistant cream eyeshadows) that perfectly compliment his signature dramatic eye looks.
Jade 'Jadeywadey' Marie
The beauty guru Angel teamed up with? Jade Marie! This ionic MUA helped PÜR create the collection's lip products, which are four different matte and glossy liquid lipsticks.
Nikkie 'NikkieTutorials' De Jager
The Power of Makeup was a limited-edition makeup collection created by Too Faced Cosmetics and YouTube star NikkieTutorials last summer. The collection included the following: nine eyeshadows, two blushes, a bronzer, a highlighter, a liquid eyeliner, a pot of glitter AND a special purple mascara. DO YOU DIE?!?!!?
Sadly, the kit is long gone from shelves.
Shayla 'MakeupShayla' Mitchell
SM is basically the queen of contouring, so it only makes sense that she and Tarte Cosmetics worked together to make the tarteist x @MakeupShayla contour palette. This bad boy has so many different shades, so you'll be able to get the perfect sculpted look no matter your skin tone.
Casey teased her collaboration with Smashbox for what felt like FOR-EH-VER before she finally announced what she'd been working on for so long — highlighter palettes!
The 25-year-old YouTuber helped the iconic brand create two Spotlight Palettes, one gold and one pearl, each containing three different powder highlighters.
"I am OVER THE MOON excited about these 2 palettes," she wrote on Instagram when they launched a few weeks ago. "It was originally suppose to be one palette...but I honestly couldn't narrow it down! Lol '2 is better than one' There's a shade for everyone! I hope you're excited."
This Australian beauty guru collaborated with not one, but TWO huge beauty brands throughout her career on YouTube. First, Chloe worked with Ciaté London to create a special, limited edition bundle of her favorite products, including an eyeshadow palette, mascara and liquid lipstick.
Unlike her collab with Ciaté London, which launched all over the world, her partnership with Revlon (a contour and highlight kit) was only available in Australia and New Zealand.
Judy 'ItsJudyTime' Travis
Judy graduated from a collaboration with BH Cosmetics (which is basically only available online) to something much bigger — we're talking, available in freakin' Target!
This OG beauty vlogger worked with Pixi Beauty to make two palettes, one with eyeshadows and one with lipsticks, two of her favorite makeup items. These bad boys are basically always sold out, but if you're lucky enough to get your hands on them, you will NOT be disappointed.
Pixi Beauty also got a hold of this OG YouTuber to round out their recent collaboration collection. While Judy took over the eyes and the lips, Maryam handled the face and helped make the Strobe & Sculpt kit, which is a palette of three highlighters and three bronzer shades.
While most beauty gurus work with big brands to create makeup products, Nicol decided to do something different with Tarte Cosmetics — a brush set!
Anyone who knows anything about makeup knows that without the proper brushes, it's super hard to get a flawless look. Thankfully, this YouTuber was there to help and released a 6-brush collection for only $39!!!! Can you even handle it?!
Sadly, this was another super limited-edition launch and the brushes are no longer available for purchase. *sad face*
