If you are a human being, odds are good that you’ve heard about the new Wonder Woman movie that broke records last week and became the best opening day and weekend for a female director EVER, making over $100 million over the weekend. I’m sure a lot of men are super happy about this! Whether or not you’ve seen it, you’ve most definitely heard about it, and you will probably keep hearing about it, since the movie is pretty freakin’ important. And now, we have learned some new details about the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel that will (probably) also break some records.
So, nothing ~official~ has been announced yet, but director Patty Jenkins has hinted at what kind of sequel she wants to make. According to Entertainment Weekly, Patty wants the next movie to take place in the USA. Good, since we could really use some powerful female figures here in America. Patty told EW, “The story will take place in the U.S., which I think is right. She’s Wonder Woman. She’s coming to America. It’s time.” YEP. It really is time, you guys. The sequel is also expected to take place in the present day, as opposed to the post-World War I era that the first movie took place in. Wonder Woman is immortal, after all, so this gives us a ton of options when it comes to her timeline.
