Whether you’ve been Team Taylor Swift or Team Katy Perry, we think we could all agree that the feud (if there even is a feud) between the two pop singers needs to end — especially since it sounds like it all started because of backup dancers, like… can’t we let bygones be bygones?
In recent weeks, Katy said she’s “ready for that BS to be done,” telling James Corden, “Now, there is the law of cause and effect. You do something, there’s going to be a reaction, and trust me, Daddy, there’s going to be a reaction. It’s all about karma, right? I think personally that women together, not divided, and none of this petty bullsh*t, women together will heal the world.”
The “Bon Appetit” singer is even willing to collaborate with Taylor. When a fan asked if she would work with the 27-year-old superstar, she responded, “if she says sorry, sure!”
BUT, in her own words (in NME‘s June 9 issue), “There are three sides of every story: one, two and the truth.” And Katy’s truths are far different from Taylor’s. As of right now, there does not seem to be any signs of burying the hatchet. Until that day comes (or doesn’t), here are all the uncomfortable times Katy Perry not-so-subtly shaded Taylor Swift:
When Katy referred to Taylor as a ~mean girl~.
In September 2014, Taylor's interview with Rolling Stone was released; an interview in which T.Swift spoke about the meaning behind her single, "Bad Blood."
"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," she explained. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'"
"She did something so horrible," the blonde singer added. "I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational — you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it."
Soon after, Katy made a small remark on Twitter that many believed to be about her fellow singer, "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing..." In other words, look out for the mean girl feigning innocence.
In the months that followed, Billboard followed up with Katy regarding that very tweet. To that, she said, "If somebody is trying to defame my character, you're going to hear about it."

Before the sh*tshow that was the 2015 VMAs.
After the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards nominees were announced, Nicki Minaj, who wasn't nominated for Video of the Year, tweeted, "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year."
Taylor's fans, as well as the singer herself, took it as an attack on her — so Tay responded, "I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.."
The two female musicians tweeted a bit more, and seemingly resolved their short-lived feud... but Katy didn't miss the chance to chime in on the action. She tweeted, "Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman..."

That time Tay's ex paved the way.
While the "New Romantics" crooner was dating Tom Hiddleston, word got out that Taylor actually penned ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris' tune, "This Is What You Came For," which features Rihanna — and Calvin didn't take it well.
It started out all well and good. "And she sings on a little bit of it too. Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual," he began on Twitter. "I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though. And initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym," Nils Sjoberg.
But things quickly went downhill. "Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though," he added. "I figure if you're happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do."
Wait, here comes the kicker: "I know you're off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I'm not that guy, sorry. I won't allow it."
Two hours after Calvin's last tweet in the rant, Katy tweeted a GIF of Hillary Clinton, shrugging smugly. Separately, she retweeted an old tweet of hers, which reads, "Time, the ultimate truth teller."

During a Kanye West-fueled event.
You all know about Kanye West's beef with TS — and we're not talking about the feud that stemmed from the 2009 VMAs. Rather, the beef regarding his track, "Famous."
"I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex," he raps in the tune.
Well, anyway, in October 2016, KP recorded herself dancing along enthusiastically to Kanye's "Famous" vocals, making that face on the right of the photo as the crowd screamed, "I made that b*tch famous."

Throughout the entirety of her new single, "Swish Swish."
"A tiger // Don't lose no sleep // Don't need opinions // From a shellfish or a sheep" — remember that tweet about watching out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing?
"Your game is tired // You should retire // You're 'bout as cute as // An old coupon expired // And karma's not a liar // She keeps receipts" — you better BELIEVE there are receipts. (i.e. Kim Kardashian's recording of Tay's convo with Kanye.)

And in the midst of a song-fueled interview.
During a Katy-filled edition of Carpool Karaoke in May 2017, the 32-year-old informed James Corden about the whole backup-dancer thing, saying, "It's about backing dancers, there were three backing dancers. I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn't speak to me."
"I do the right thing any time that it feels like a fumble," she insisted. "It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me, and I'm like, 'Okay, cool, cool, cool, that's how you want to deal with it? Karma!'"
Don’t go hating — we’re just as uncomfortable with the times Taylor shaded Katy!
