Fan favorite Clay Jensen (played by Dylan Minnette) will return to streamers’ screens sooner than they may have expected. Filming recently began for Season 2 of the hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, set to premiere in 2018. Viewers and the series’ actors alike have many questions they want answered and high hopes for the smash hit’s fresh episodes.
Although the first season caused some major controversy, as it portrayed serious scenes of sexual assault and suicide, its next season will be just as dark — which is exactly what the cast hopes for. From finding out more about their own characters to seeking justice for Hannah, the 13RW actors are on the edge of their seats to see how Season 2 unravels:
Dylan as Clay Jensen certainly went through a lot of emotions when listening to Hannah's suicide cassettes. One of Dylan's hope for Season 2 is, understandably, for the strength of his own character.
"I would like to know that Clay is healthy and away from his anxiety issues, but I think if Clay were to fully separate from his anxiety that would be a little surprising because I don't think it's just easy to get rid of," Dylan told TVGuide.com.
Hannah Baker, portrayed by Katherine, deserves an unlimited amount of justice on Season 2. There's a lot of speculation as to how Katherine will be involved in the next season, especially after looking at how much screen time she had on Season 1.
It's no surprise that Hannah played a huge role as the narrator, bringing all 13 tapes together. Katherine has her own suggestions for who should be the main voice on Season 2. "I want someone kind of obscure, like Skye," she said at an FYC Emmy event.

Brandon's own character Justin was involved in some of the most heartbreaking scenes of 13RW, Season 1, including the rape of Alisha Boe's character, Jessica.
While such scenes aren't easy to watch, they create a conversation for how such a situation should be handled. Brandon thinks that the continuation of tragic storylines is important. "I do hope things get better, like for any tragedy, you hope things get better," Brandon told HollywoodLife. "But, like a lot of Shakespeare's tragedies and a lot of real-life tragedies, I hope that the story is told truthfully and sometimes that's not pretty."
Alisha portrayed Jessica, who is a rape victim on the series' first season. While the scene itself is graphic, Alisha wants to know what happens to Bryce after he assaulted her.
"I hope he gets prosecuted and I would love to see him in jail, juvie of some sort," Alisha said in an interview with Elite Daily. "I would like, beyond Bryce, for Jessica to be able to have the power to prosecute him, to advocate for other women and other girls in the high school to speak up about it; hope she becomes more public with it in order to get justice. I just want to see justice for Hannah and Jessica."

Miles has spoken of his character's self-inflicted gunshot wound on the series' first season. While suicide is the main topic of 13RW, Miles wants the show to address what happens after a failed suicide attempt.
"That's another subject that's very rarely shown on screen and is probably a lot more common than people think it is," Miles said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "People attempting to take their lives and it not happening, I'm sure that will bring a crazy set of issues. It would be interesting to go into that."
Reflecting on his two crimes of raping both Jessica and Hannah, Justin hopes to understand his own character, Bryce, better on Season 2. More specifically, Justin wants to see why his character is the way that he is.
"I would love to see Bryce's parents... I would love to meet his parents," Justin told E! News. "That would be really interesting because I feel like the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree."

After his character, Zach, sabotages Hannah Baker on Season 1, Ross Butler wants the major cliffhangers answered on Season 2 — one involving Tyler's collection of guns.
"We knew that he had bought a gun earlier in the series, but to have a whole case of guns — that's definitely one of the big cliffhangers for me personally," Ross told Entertainment Weekly. "And another one is when Justin decides to leave. I really want to see what that manifests into," he added.
Christian's character, Tony, is seemingly one of the good guys on 13RW, Season 1. However, there are some questions left to be answered, including why did Hannah leave her tapes with Tony in the first place? Christian hopes that the relationship between Tony and Hannah is explained throughout Season 2 to tie the plot together.
"[So] we have secrets, none that I choose to reveal right now, but hopefully we get to explore it in a second season," Christian explained to Entertainment Weekly. "I think there's a lot more to the story."
