If you’ve heard this VH1 Divas cover or her track with Borgore, you may be getting used to the edgier Miley Cyrus. But during early summer 2012, MiCy was all about the smooth, acoustic renditions of classic tunes.

During Backyard Sessions, we heard Miley take on the 1950 track, “Lilac Wine.” Then, she released her cover of Melanie Safka’s ’70s “Look What They’ve Done to My Song.” Now, from the same sesh, you can hear her version of Dolly Parton‘s “Jolene.” Watch above, then make sure to tell us your thoughts in the comments or on our Miley Cyrus message board!

Her voice has matured from the bubbelgum songs she used to sing. I hear a “Dolly”-esque quality in her voice. The song itself is difficult to sing without squeaking on the high rifts. She handels all of the difficulties well. Having listened to “Country” from the time of the original Hank, Flatt and Scruggs on TV, and Porter with Dolly when she started, Miley fills some impressive shoes very well. It is to hope that she will continue to produce really great music in the coming years.

I’m not sure why I would ever WANT to ruin my ears listening to her horrible voice.
