If you’re not familiar with the name Sophie Nélisse, you will be soon as the young actress will steal your hearts (after stealing something else) in the upcoming book-to-movie adaptation of The Book Thief.

Based on the 2006 novel of the same name by Australian author Markus Zusak, The Book Thief focuses on Liesel Meminger (portrayed by Canadian-born Sophie). According to the official synopsis, “While subjected to the horrors of WWII Germany, young Liesel finds solace by stealing books and sharing them with others. Under the stairs in her home, a Jewish refuge is being sheltered by her adoptive parents.”

The Book Thief, which also features Emily Watson, Ben Schnetzer and The Pirates of the Caribbean‘s Geoffrey Rush, hits theaters on November 15, 2013. Is it on your must-see list? Are you already a fan of the novel? Spill in the comments!
