When Katy Perry‘s latest single “Roar” dropped last week, people were automatically in love with the catchy tune. However, after the dust settled on finally hearing a new KP track, some were surprised at how similar it sounded to Sara Bareilles‘ song, “Brave.” (Take a listen to Katy’s single HERE and Sara’s HERE and make the comparison yourself.)

In fact, during Taylor Swift‘s Red Tour stop at Staples Center on Monday evening, the “22″ singer decided to bring Sara up on stage to sing “Brave” together, which automatically lead people to think she was “throwing shade” at Katy for ripping off Sara’s song.

While we think this was more than likely just Taylor’s way of surprising fans, we’ll let YOU guys be the judge! Watch the performance above, and tell us what you think in the comments!

See Taylor’s other guest that night — Cher Lloyd!

I believe it is a copy, I wouldn’t trust Katy’s producer, Dr. Luke has plagiarized many times and has been sued also been accused of doing it many times, along with Katy, something smells fishy!

The song “Brave” by Sara Bareilles was released in April, songs take long to be released though, they have certain times to be released, edited, put on the album..etc So Brave was most likely written in 2012 or January, maybe February.

I find it strange how Katy knew about Brave, tweeted and linked Sara’s video and than a few months later a song called “Roar” comes out? Which sounds very similar. {If you cannot hear the similarity, it’s fine, but a lot of people do I myself can hear the similarity you can hear it a lot when you listen to the mash-up.] How does Katy come up with something that fast? Similar beat, piano, rythm? I find that strange.

Sara has been a Jazz artist for a long time, she plays live instruments, she usually plays in theaters as well, she plays all her instruments live. Brave is a beautiful song, it’s like when Jazz and Pop meet for the first time, that’s why you don’t hear anything like this before. Sara is a Jazz artist, she always has been, I find it strange how Katy has no Jazz songs whatsoever and has never written any Jazz songs, played any instruments {Maybe besides the piano} and all the sudden randomly comes up with a Jazz song out of the blue? Hmm, interesting isn’t it?

Let’s not forget, when I was listening to the mash-up I noticed this a lot, along with playing both songs at the same time, when Sara Bareilles hits the high note for Brave, Katy hits the high note in Roar at the same time, Katy holds the note as long as Sara.

Butch Walker, a producer, songwriter..etc Even said himself, the song is a rip-off of Sara Bareilles “Brave” also he added in 3 more details and called Katy out for 3 things, even Butch Walker has his eye open and noticed it, this guy is bigger than Dr. Luke and has a strong talent and has an eye for catching copies, even himself saw it.

Dr. Luke does not have the data, files..etc On Brave, he does not know when it was officially released, he CANNOT confirm anything because Sara was NOT in the recording booth with him was she? He does not know when Brave was recorded, written..etc He is claiming something false by judging on a VEVO date, that isn’t professional, yet it’s pathetic, he is putting words in Katy’s mouth and Sara’s mouth.

Katy claims she “wrote Roar” but she knows she got the idea, beat, rythm, piano..etc from Brave, oh, and Katy didn’t write anything, she’s has a team of 6 no less, Katy may co-write things but she does not write anything, she slaps her label on it and claims it, simple as that. Sara writes from the soul, this is like the first time when someone co-wrote one of her songs.

Both songs have similar meaning as well, but one is about Katy to stand up for herself, the other one is about everyone and to stand up.

So now your going to say? It’s not a big deal!
I’m a Katy fan, I have been for a long time, along with a Sara fan, but the fact that Sara has been in the shade for a long time and has been forgotten really sucks, she writes amazing music, she has a very beautiful strong voice, she can sing better than the recording and hold the note perfectly, she hasn’t been in the spotlight for a long time. Sara truly deserves the awards, publicity, nominations, money, and most importantly she’s the who deserves #1 in 60 countries.

It kinda is a big deal when your time and love was spent on a song that didn’t make it far and than someone rips your song and gets all the hits, fame, attention..etc How would you feel? Especially for a song that needs to be recognized because it has such an important message.

Katy’s producer said Roar was recorded long before Brave was recorded. Roar does sound similar to Brave but again fans think it’s a ripoff and it was plagiarism. If it’s plagiarism, it would never that popular. In my opinion, I LOVE ROAR AND IT WILL BE SUCCESSFUL!!!!!!!
