Dear Catrific, I have a very big crush on this guy, it’s my very first crush ever and unlike most girls, I don’t like him because he’s “hot” or “cute,” I like him because he’s very nice, is very responsible especially when it comes to school and is very funny. I also like him because he never uses fowl language and i’ve never heard say anything rude or innipropriate. But the point is, I can’t have a boyfriend until highschool but I completely agree with this, so I have decided to be this guy’s friend. Being his friend could possibly show me his bad side if he has one. But whenever I see him, I feel so shy and can just manage a “hello.” I’m scared to talk to him on my own and just hope that he will talk to me, but that doesn’t work very well I’ve found. what should I do, what should I say, and what should I remember in order to come over this shy feeling?

try to find a common topic …….that is if there is something he likes and you do too then you can probably bond over it and eventually becomes friends….or if you both are in the same classes or clubs(school clubs/societies) then you could probably talk about that……..
making appropriate small talk really works and will HOPEFULLY overcome your shyness!
